
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, I moved to the Washington, DC in 1983 to escape the Lebanese civil war. I took studio art classes at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington Studio School, Glen Echo Park, and Pyramid Atlantic Art Center. My works have appeared in three solo exhibitions at the Arts Club of Washington, DC, Foundry Gallery, and Goodwin House Alexandria. I participated in a number of group and juried exhibitions at the Foundry Gallery, The Washington Design Center, Washington Studio School, Pass Gallery, Capitol One Art Program, and the Mansion at Strathmore.
My professional background is in arts management. I have developed concepts and planned the installation of over 50 exhibits by local, national and international artists. I worked with diverse communities to develop public programs, partnerships, and
collaborative projects. Among the non-profit organizations I worked for are the
Washington Studio School, Arts for the Aging, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, Foundry
Gallery, Woolly Mammoth Theater Company, and Alif Gallery/Arab American Cultural
Foundation.
I earned my B.A. in Archaeology/Art
History from the American University of Beirut, and M.A. in International Communication from the American University in Washington, DC.
